Talking Tariffs with Patriot Acura

What We Know

Patriot will focus on being upfront, telling you all we know and what we're doing. Communication helps reduce confusion for our team and our customers.  We'll keep updating as new information becomes available.

We appreciate that Acura takes the same approoach and has been out in front on messaging.

Here is what we know right now:

All of these tariffs have an impact on the auto industry and Honda. However, based on Acura/Honda's strong commitment to our customers, we want to confirm that they are NOT making adjustments to the MSRP pricing at this time. Therefore, you will not see any increases on out prices at Patriot Acura.

• Acura / Honda has a 40+ year commitment to "build where we sell". Nearly two-thirds of all Acura/Hondas sold in the U.S. are built in the U.S.  This benefits us as dealer and you as a customer as we navigate these challenging times.

• Patriot has a strong vehicle inventory, in-stock-on-the-ground. These and our new inventory arriving are for sale with excellent pricing options.

• We are eager to talk to you about buying your car and will pay a solid, highly competive price.

Frequently Asked Questions About Tariffs Our Customers Have Been Asking

Accordion Content Header

A tariff is a tax imposed by one country on the goods and services imported from companies from other countries to influence it, raise revenues, or protect competitive advantages.

The United States implemented a 25 percent tariff on vehicles built outside the U.S. starting April 3, according to an executive order issued by the White House on March 26. That was then amended to a 10% tariff and a 90 day pause while the U.S. negotiates with the different countries. The exception to the pause was with China, where the U.S. countered the reciprocal increase by China and raised the tariff to 145%.

Steel and aluminum did not see the reduction in rate or a pause, and remain at 25%.

No, they are not.  We know there will be a higher demand for these vehicles, but we will not take advantage of customers. During Covid, when there was a shortage, Patriot never sold above the MSRP. We are not going to change our commitment of providing the customer with the best possible price. The vehicles we have now at the store will not increase in price.

Acura/Honda has announced that at this time, they are not making adjustments in pricing. Their commitment to customers is a top priority, and as a result there are no increases in pricing at Patriot Acura.

Similar to the new cars, we have one of the largest Parts inventories in New England. We will not mark up any parts or accessories we have in stock. Right now there has not been an increase to us for the price of parts and therefore there has been no increase in pricing.

We don't have an answer for that. Wish we did. We'll keep updating this page as new information comes in.  It's a fluid situation. We're not going to hide from customers, we'll be as forthright as possible, and do our best to eliminate surprises.

it does not! Whether you own it now or buying a new car, Patriot's Exclusive Lifetime Warranty provides coverage for an unlimited time and unlimited miles, for as long as you own the vehicle. The Lifetime Warranty applies anywhere in the United States and Canada. Remember, to keep the warranty intact you have to stay on the basic Subaru maintenance plan that  came in your Owner's Manual.
